This month’s Briefing has the usual selection of feature articles from the Chemical Watch team and industry experts. Collectively, they address some of the most important regulatory and environmental issues facing the chemicals industry and its downstream customers. As Leigh Stringer reports (pages 1-2), Cefic, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and nine major chemical companies have just come together to releasea roadmap for how the industry can advance the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs). This is, and was clearly intended to be, about broad principles and opportunities rather than specifics like timelines and objectives, but it has nevertheless disappointed many NGOs.
