Temperature control plays an important role in thermal heat treatment for the recovery of recyclable materials. The optical measuring method using pyrometers has become established for recording the temperature. The following article describes the correct selection of pyrometers and the technological development for the measurement of temperature profiles of indirectly heated rotary kilns.
