IRIS CERAMICA GROUP SUPPORTS THE NATURE CONSERVANCY

After achieving its Zero Emissions target,Iris Ceramica Group is now taking a further step forward on its path of Corporate Social Responsibility.Through its US subsidiary Stonepeak Ceramics,as of this year the group has decided to support The Nature Conservancy(TNC),a Virginia-based global non-profit organisation that has been working for more than 60 years to protect the environment and nature.Iris Ceramica Group and Stonepeak Ceramics will be supporting three specific initiatives pursued by The Nature Conservancy: the fight against climate change through conservation of coastal wetlands and exploration of financial mechanisms for promoting”blue carbon”ecosystems;protection of natural ecosystems such as mangrove forests,coral reefs and peat bogs which are particularly useful for reducing the greenhouse effect(they sequester carbon from the atmosphere more rapidly than forests);education to raise awareness of the need to reduce the risk of natural disasters,involving at-risk communities and key stakeholders all over the world.
