US ACN supply remains tight amid robust demand

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US Gulf acrylonitrile (ACN) availability has improved after Q2 turnarounds, but overall supply remains on the tight side. Although some producers have some ACN to offer in the export spot market, sources said there is little incentive to sell due to strong domestic and contractual demand. Demand is viewed as strong except from a few end-markets in Asia-including acrylic fibres. Additionally, supply remains tight in Europe amid a force majeure and in Asia amid reduced production.
