HOUSTON (ICIS)--US methanol spot barge prices jumped 5 cents/gal this week, continuing to follow rising prices in China and the Middle East and also on talk of upcoming plant turnarounds, sources said on Thursday. US methanol spot barge prices hit 116 cents/gal on a small handful of trades for January delivery. Sources said BASF was selling to Tricon on one of the deals, with Mitsui and BP heard to be buyers on others.
