LONDON (ICIS)--Players in the European expandable polystyrene (EPS) market have started October contract negotiations this week, with downward pressure on prices following a €70/tonne drop in the upstream styrene barge contract. Some producers independently said they were targeting decreases of less than the full styrene monomer drop, citing good demand for insulation-grade material and stable buying interest for packaging-grade material as reasons for why prices might not fall as far.
