LONDON (ICIS)--Plunging Chinese methanol values are depressing European methanol spot prices, as uncertainty over the drastically low water levels on the Rhine and the downturn in global energy prices have put a bearish slant to the market in early November. Import values in China have flopped dramatically in November, by roughly 20% between 19 October and 16 November, from well over $400/tonne to the low $300s/tonne CFR (cost and freight).
