Turkey's failed coup attempt hurt July PP, PE imports

LONDON (ICIS)--The failed coup attempt in Turkey on July 15 has had a negative impact on imports of both polypropylene (PP) and some grades of polyethylene, the latest data from Turkstat has revealed. Turkstat data showing imports into Turkey for the month of July shows a clear and significant drop in PP homopolymer, high density polyethylene (HDPE) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) grades, both month on month and year on year.
