US Dow to pay $835m to settle urethanes case

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical has agreed to pay $835m to plaintiffs to settle a class action case over alleged urethanes price fixing-but it insists that it "was not part of any conspiracy" and that a prior judgement against Dow "was fundamentally flawed as a matter of class action law", it said on Friday. The settlement will resolve a $1.06bn judgment against Dow from 2013, and it will also resolve post-judgment interest and awards of attorney's fees.
