MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Chinese producer Jiangsu Sopo Chemical will cap its ethyl acetate (etac) output at around 35% capacity for a few more days because of longer-thanexpected mechanical repairs, a company source said on Thursday. The producer in late December scaled back the operating rate at its 500,000 tonne/year etac plant at Zhenjiang in Jiangsu province from 50% prior, after its raw material acetic acid supply was reduced by a mechanical fault affecting its upstream methanol unit, the source said.
