摘要

The goal of this study is to develop a nonlinear adaptive control strategy to control tension in the steel striptransported through heating and cooling sections of continuous steel processing lines such as continuousannealing line (CAL) and continuous galvanizing line(CGL, Fig.1). Towards this, the nonlinear characteristicsof governing equation of strip tension are considered to develop transport behavior models for the differentsections of the annealing furnace of CGL/CAL. A model-based control design strategy will be considered todevelop a tension control system that can precisely control tension when there are disturbing forces on thestrip due to heating/cooling of the web and machine imperfections.
