Charles Johnston, Jr. died at age 86 on May 8, 2010 in Seminole, Oklahoma, where he had lived his entire life. Charles is survived by his wife, Norma; one sister, Kaye Black; grandchildren Katie Roberts and Peter Morris; and a host of friends. His wife of 57 years (d.2003); his only son, Jeffrey Smith Johnston, an Oklahoma state senator (d.1981); and a grandson, Jeffrey Smith Johnston Morris (d.2003), preceded him in death.
