Deiter Brothers Angus Hybrids of Faulkton, South Dakota is a fourth generation family farming & ranching operation. The nucleus of the Deiter program was started with the partnership of brothers Doug & Roger Deiter and their wives Sandy & Beth, Doug'sson Kevin and his wife, Carrie, joined the operation full-time in 1999. The partnership venture started when Roger Deiter came home from college in December of 1979, At that time the ranch had commercial Hereford cows, "My older brother Doug (6 years older) had been back on the ranch for nearly 10 years, Collectively we decided that commercial cattle was not what we wanted to pursue." says Roger. When Doug & Roger decided to develop a seedstock operation, family traditions demanded that it be built onlong-range solutions to complicated problems facing the beef industry. They would have to offer quality breeding cattle that would be capable of generating profits for their commercial customers in a variety of trait areas. They began with artificial insemination to other breeds on their original Hereford cows and evolved into selling a few club calves & private treaty bulls.
