Authentic leadership: lessons learned undercover.

Using the words authentic leadership and undercover in a title might seem like an oxymoron. How can something be authentic when the title implies that you are sneaking around to get the information? This is a great question and one I might have asked before a few recent experiences that I was fortunate enough to have in my travels. I will talk more about that later. First, I want to start this column with a few personal statements. Writing this column on healthy work environments (HWEs) has provided me with an opportunity to share many thoughts and experiences that I have encountered in my career.
