China to substantially expand EAF capacities over 2017?2018

Electric arc furnaces are becoming more and more popular in China after the government shut down all the sub-standardsteel capacities in H1 of 2017. New EAF capacities are expected to substantially expand till the end of next year. It willsupport the rise of demand for steel scrap in local market, while scrap supply is also likely to be enlarged next year.
