Evraz NA results improve on better demand, eased trade pressure in h1 2019

Evraz North America (Evraz NA), a subsidiary of Russia’s Evraz Group, reported stronger H1 2019 fnancial results thanks to higher sales volumes and prices. The elimination of Sections 232 tariffs for Canada also beneftted the producer’s performance.The key driver for the growth in steel products revenues was improved demand mainly for semi-fnished, railway and tubular products, according to the company’s offcial statement. The average steel price rose by 4.7% in annual comparison, sales volumes improved by 12% in H1 2019. The division’s EBITDA jumped by 50% to $ 60 million for the same reasons, with a positive effect being though partially offset by the increased costs, Metal Expert learnt.
