摘要

On Dec. 13, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a revised version of its 2015 report on the impact of hydraulic fracturing on drinking water in the country. The original report had including the finding that there was no evidence that fracking posed a "widespread, systemic" risk to drinking water in the US—a finding that caused uproar in the environmentalist camp, and on which the EPA's Science Advisory Board eventually asked the agency to elaborate. Now, the EPA has released a new report that removes the offending language and instead finds "that hydraulic fracturing activities can impact drinking water under some circumstances."
