Easing of strict environmental measures helps China’s PC production rise

Beginning in 2016,stringent anti-pollution measures were being enforced to help clean up the air,water,and land.Many facilities were forced to halt PC and derivatives output.Units that remained open often saw investments not only to improve their environmental performance,but also to increase efficiency.Plus,new capacities were started up using cleaner,more efficient technologies.For Oct.2018 through March 2019,the government is targeting a year-on-year reduction of 3% in the number of days with excessive PM2.5 levels as well as average PM2.5 intensity in Beijing,Hebei,Tianjin,and surrounding areas.This is reportedly a reduction from an initially proposed 5% reduction target.
