Iran signs agreement with Iraq to jointly develop oilfield.

Despite US sanctions remaining in place, the two countries have signed an agreement to jointly develop the Yaran oilfield, the news website of Iranian state-run broadcaster IRIB reported on July 11. The website said the agreement includes an investment of $400MM and involves Iraq and "an Iranian company." The development is expected to take two-and-a-half years "with reliance on domestic knowledge and capacities."
