HRC for Oct Shipment: China Offers Markdown While Japan Does Markup

Japanese integrated steel mills are expected to begin their negotiations on hot-rolled steel coil (HRC) for Octobershipment late next week. The price normally goes down in this time of year, where a demand trough begins; however, onthe back of fewer factors that may drive down the price around this year, the mills are reportedly considering offering amarkup, or at least keeping their price unchanged from the previous month.
