Japan’s Steel Export in FY2019 Rises by 2.5% from FY2018 to 35,129 t/t

According to trade statistics released by the Ministry of Finance Japan, the export quantity of steel products of Japan in the fiscal year 2019 (April 2019-March 2020) was 35,129 thousand tons (abbreviated as t/t), up 2.5% from the previous fiscal year. While, its import quantity was 7,911 t/t, down 4.2% ditto. Its export quantity reached the level of 35 million tons for the first time in a few years, which seems to have been possibly the last year to reach the level of 35 million tons because various countries have enhanced a production ramp-up at home and a protective policy of own steel industry.
