nhs to make new heart disease drug available by 2021

A new heart disease drug is expected to be made available to patients by 2021, through a collaboration between Novartis, NHS England, the National Institute for Health Research and the University of Oxford. Incliseran, a bi-annual injection which could be the first and only cholesterol-lowering therapy in the small-interfering RNA (siRNA) drug class, will be studied in UK patients as part of a large-scale phase III clinical trial, expected to start later in 2020.
