EXPLORE, Learn and Create new technologies and processes that are sustainable and safe to the environment. Pidilite Industries Limited had organised 17th National Technology Day on 11th May 2018 at R&D Hall, at Andheri Mumbai. In this event a Panel comprising experts from industry and academia discussed and deliberated on the "Future Chemical Technologies-Opportunities for Indian R&Ds which was moderated by Mr.Rajesh Balakrishnan Here are some excerpts: Dr. Raman Ramachandran, Managing Director, BASF India Ltd spoke on "Innovative Sustainable Solutions needed to meet Challenges of 21st Century." He obtained PhD in agricultural science from University of Adelaide, published 25 papers and has 25 years of experience. He talked about India-centric innovation with reference to health & nutrition, clean energy, infrastructure & urbanisation and waste; Innovations that are sustainable, notwithstanding challenges like climate change and related adversities; chemistry is enabler to meet current and future needs; reducing greenhouse gases like CO2 and in turn converting them into chemicals etc.
