Indonesian thermal coal market kicked off the week on aslow note as traders bemoaned the uncertainties surrounding China’simport quota policies, sources said Monday. An Indonesia-based trader said that there was too muchuncertainty currently, with talks about import quota in China possiblylikely to be extended to at least until end of January.“There is a lot of spillover of cargoes from December to January,”he added. “Several miners are reluctant to offer H2 December cargoesyet as they wait for clarity.”He said he sold Supramax cargoes of 3,800 kcal/kg NAR for H1December loading at $31/mt FOB.He pegged the price of 3,400 kcal/kg NAR at $26-$27/mt FOB.Offers for Supramax cargoes of 3,800 kcal/kg GAR were heard at$27.50/mt FOB for December loading while bids were heard at $26-$27/mt FOB.
