Indian domestic petcoke prices stabilize amid positive outlook for 2020

Singapore—Prices of delivered US petcoke to India were stable on the week amid positive sentiment for infrastructure demand in 2020, sources said Wednesday. An India-based trader said a deal for a Supramax-sized cargo of US petcoke was done at $68/mt CFR East Coast for January loading. He had heard unconfirmed trader offers for Saudi Arabian petcoke at $66/mt CFR East Coast for December. Availability of Saudi material is tight “as all [cargoes are] going to China,” he added. Following the trade, another India-based trader said bids from endusers were heard for January loading US petcoke at $67/mt CFR India West and $68/mt CFR India East this week.
