Portugal launches Eur7 billion hydrogen strategy to 2030

Barcelona—Portugal’s government has put forward a national hydrogen strategy that could see Eur7 billion ($7.6 billion) invested through to 2030 as the country strives to decarbonize energy, industry and transport, it said. The strategy, now available for public consultation until July 6, intends to introduce incentives and stability for the energy sector by gradually introducing hydrogen as an integrated pillar in a decarbonized energy mix, the country’s Cabinet announced May 21.
