OMV oil output up 19%, as refining margins strengthen

London-Austria’s OMV increased its oil production by 19% on the year in the third quarter 2017 to 181,000 b/d, while its refining margins climbed on the year and on the quarter, including at Balkan subsidiary OMV Petrom, it has said. A trading statement from the company published Friday suggested OMV may beat its forecast of a 6% rise in its upstream oil and gas output this year to 330,000 b/d of oil equivalent. It had already revised upward its full-year estimate on the back of its Norwegian production and recovery in Libya. Including gas, OMV’s hydrocarbon production totaled 341,000 boe/d in the third quarter, up 13% on the year.
