Dubai-Southeast Asia is emerging as the latest region in which rival Persian Gulf oil exporters are vying for future market supremacy. Negotiations over the swelling flow of Middle East crude to Asian markets for years have focused on the Asia-Pacific economic triumvirate of China, Japan and South Korea. In recent months, however, the spotlight has shifted to Southeast Asian oil importers including Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
