Rio de Janeiro-Brazil next year will end the use of a longstanding and controversial differential between residential and industrial LPG prices as the government continues to open Latin America’s biggest refined-product market to greater competition in an effort to lower prices. “The change will contribute to an increase in LPG supplies and development of the domestic market,” the Mines and Energy Ministry said in a statement announcing the decision approved by the National Energy Policy Council, or CNPE, late Thursday.
