Thailand increases industrial LPG prices

The Thai government officially increased domestic retail LPG prices for industrial users of the fuel by 3 baht/kg ($0.10/kg) or 16.5pc to Bt21.13/kg on 19 July, in the first of four scheduled price hikes for LPG users in the country’s light industrial sector. LPG prices for industrial users are set to rise by Bt3/kg every three months, and the next three increments are due on 1 October, 1 January 2012 and 1 April 2012, bringing the domestic retail price of industrial LPG to Bt30.13/ kg after April next year. Industrial LPG usage averaged 64,600 t/month in January-May this year, or 13pc of the country’s overall consumption.
