Washington-Mexico’s decision to delay auctions on new oil and gas development until at least 2021 will result in billions of dollars in revenue losses and significantly stymie new production over the next decade, a member of the country’s National Hydrocarbon Commission said Tuesday. “Every year you don’t have a bidding, it’s going to cost you $1 billion,” said CNH Commissioner Hector Moreira Rodriguez during an event at the Wilson Center’s Mexico Institute in Washington.
