Tokyo—Japanese refiner Cosmo Oil has shut a combined 177,000 b/d, or 49%, of its refining capacity at its peak scheduled turnaround with the shutdown of its largest Chiba refinery, according to S&P Global Platts calculations. Cosmo Oil on Thursday shut the 75,000 b/d No. 1 crude distillation unit at its 177,000 b/d Chiba refinery in Tokyo Bay for a month-long scheduled turnaround.
