China’s official ferroalloys futures platform, the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, recorded 1.934 million lots of ferrosilicon traded in September, more than double the level of September 2019, while silicomanganese trades increased by more than fourfold from in the same period to 3.535 million lots, the exchange said in its ferroalloy monthly released Oct. 8. One lot equates to 5 mt. The total volume of ferrosilicon and silicomanganese traded over January-September has risen by almost threefold and by more than fourfold year on year to 21.488 million lots and 32.8 million lots, respectively, the ZCE data showed.
