US A380 prices held onto previous gains at the start of the week, as rising LME NASAAC and scrap prices gave support to ingot sales numbers. The Platts A380 assessment was unmoved at 68-70 cents/lb. But weaker sales prices of 319 caused the Platts price to drop one cent to 73-75 cents. “We are holding the line on pricing,” said one producer who was selling at 70 cents. “We’ve got so many orders that we already have in the books that we have to honor to get through our shutdown,” he said as the reason for holding pricing.
