China 2022-25 annual Zn demand to grow 2% on average: CNIA

China’s annual average refined zinc demand growth over 2022-25 is expected to be 2%, peaking at 7.2 million mt/ year, but then seen gradually levelling off, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association said late Thursday. CNIA forecast China would consume 6.5 million mt zinc in 2020, unchanged from 2018, without providing a 2019 estimate. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology echoed this sentiment referring to a slowdown in growth in the Chinese infrastructure, real estate, home appliance and car sectors.
