China annual lubricant demand may grow at 1.5% by 2020 - analyst

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s annual lubricant consumption may see a reduced average year-on-year growth at 1.5% and reach 7m tonnes by 2020, according to an industry analyst. Speaking at the 11th International Base Oil Summit 2017 in Xiamen, Fujian province, Ms Kong Jingyuan from China Petroleum Planning and Engineering Institute pointed out a slowdown in China’s overall energy consumption growth during 2016-2020 in response to a slowing economy.
