The S&P Global Platts CIF Japan spot premium for 99.7% P1020/P1020A aluminum ingot was assessed at $90-$100/ mt plus London Metal Exchange cash, CIF Japan, on Friday, up from $88-$98/mt CIF Japan on Thursday. Tradable levels were mostly indicated at $90-$100/mt for spot cargoes aligning to Platts’ methodology. Though spot trading activity was lackluster in the ongoing price negotiations for April-June quarterly premiums, industry sources saw a stronger market on positive sentiment.
