Perspectives in improving the management of railways

The background to the present organizational structure of the Indian Railways has been described. Its strengths and weaknesses are discussed together with an analysis of the measures taken internally to improve its management. In the context of the Prakash Tandon Committee report, the areas where attention should be paid in the future have been highlighted. [References: 6]
