Mitsui & Gazprom Sign Framework Accord To Collaborate in Japanese LNG Projects

Tokyo— Mitsui & Co. and Gazprom have signed a framework agreement to cooperate on small- and mid-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in Japan. The parties have committed to collaborate in producing, transporting and marketing LNG, as well as in bunkering of LNG vessels in the Sea of Japan (PCN, 7 Nov 2016, p 3). Mitsui and Gazprom signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last year to conduct feasibility and marketing studies for the bunkering of LNG vessels in Russia's Far East and the Asia Pacific region.
