BP & Oman Oil Interested in Moving Ahead With Planned Acetic Acid Project in Duqm

Duqm— BP, Oman Oil Co. and a prospective partner are in discussions to move forward with previously announced plans to build a world-scale acetic acid facility in Oman, according to local media reports citing Yousuf al Ojaili, president of BP Oman. The 1-million-t/y plant, to be located in the Duqm Special Economic Zone, would utilize BP's SaaBre technology (PCN, 23-30 Dec 2013, p 1).
