Sasa Polyester Starts up New PET Facility For Production of Staple Fibers in Adana

Adana-Sasa Polyester Sanayi recently began production at a new 380,000-t/y polyethylene terephthalate(PET)plant in Adana,Turkey,for the production of staple fibers(PCN,4 Dec 2017,p 1).The facility,”one of the largest”single-line PET production units for textile applications,uses Uhde Inventa-Fischer's 2R polyester technology,noted ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions,contractor for the project.Thyssenkrupp,parent company of Uhde Inventa-Fischer,was responsible for the basic and detail engineering,delivery of all necessary components,and technical services for erection and commissioning.
