Import prices for Turkish ferrous scrap registered another uptick Monday as a UK-origin deal was reported in the market amid continued buying interest S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $326/mt CFR Monday, up $3.00/ mt from Friday. One UK recycler sold 25,000 mt HMS 1/2 (80:20) at $320/mt to an Izmir-based mill last week, according to several sources, which normalized to around $323-$325/mt CFR equivalent for Baltic- and US-origin material. Since the trade, the market has somewhat strengthened once again, sources said.
