Vale’s Q4 net income jumps 432.5% to $3.78 billion

Brazilian miner Vale’s fourth-quarter 2018 net income increased 432.5% to $3.78 billion from $771 million during the same quarter in 2017, while its diluted share jumped to 73 cents from 15 cents over the same period, a 386.7% rise. Vale’s net operating revenues were $9.81 billion, up from $9.16 billion in the fourth quarter 2017. Its total costs and expenses in the period were similar year on year at $6.23 billion, while adjusted EBITDA increased to $4.46 billion from $4.1 billion.
