London—Scrap futures traded on the London Metal Exchange softened further in the week ended Friday amid stable rebar prices, widening the spread between rebar and scrap prices. While August scrap futures fell Friday roughly in with the physical market pricing to $291/mt, September futures saw the biggest drop — $5.50 (from $299.50/mt to $294.00/mt) — on the previous week.
