After a slow start last week, ferrous scrap contracts trading on the London Metal Exchangesaw an uptick in volume last Tuesday. A total of 76,960 mt changed hands by close of dayTuesday, the largest one-day volume since late-January 2019.Scrap contract volumes stood at 137,610 mt by the end of last week, more than doublethe weekly average trading volume over the past three months, somewhat compensatingfor an otherwise sluggish June that was down 26% from May trading volumes.
