摘要

Turkish imports of semi-finished steel, which exceeded a total of 1 million mt within two months in December and January, slumped in February due to virus concerns, while Turkish suppliers' export and domestic billet offers have hit as low as $350-$355/mt in recent days, depending upon tonnage, amid slack demand. "Billet prices fell sharply in Turkey in line with scrap prices and a billet cargo was sold even as low as $345/mt FOB at the end of last week," an export trader told Platts Wednesday, adding that due to the sluggish market sentiment many EAF-based Turkish steel producers started maintenance at their rolling mills.
