The global zinc market could belooking at a supply deficit of 1 million mt thisyear, possibly making 2016 the year of the zincprice recovery, analysts said Wednesday."The supply deficit of 160,000 mt predictedfor 2016 by the [International Lead and ZincStudy Group] in October is now out of date," Commerzbank analysts said in a reportWednesday. "In actual fact, the market is likelyto be around 1 million mt short following theannouncement of sweeping production cuts.In our opinion, this points to higher zinc pricesduring the course of the year."
