BP is set to deploy digital technology aimed at preventing unplanned downtime and tested on its production platforms in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico, across facilities in Angola, followed in 2019 by Oman and the North Sea. The technology was developed alongside GE’s Baker Hughes (BHGE) and has been installed on BP’s four operated platforms — Atlantis, Thunder Horse, Na Kika and Mad Dog — in the US Gulf. It will continue to be rolled out across more than 30 of BP’s global upstream assets.
