Iran Maintains Strong Crude Exports

Iran sustained high crude exports in May but questions are mounting over its ability to sustain such levels in the face of harsh new US sanctions that will increasingly impact its oil sector in the coming months (OD May24’18). Opec’s No. 3 producer shipped 2.4 million b/d of crude oil last month, the Iranian oil ministry’s Shana news website reported. This was above last year’s average of around 2.2 million b/d and the second-highest level since reporting a two-year record of above 2.6 million b/d in April.
