Venezuela’s crude oil exports have shown signs of recovery since hitting historic lows in June, although it could be a short-lived rebound as the US intensifies its campaign to choke off any financial transactions with state-run Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). In September, shipments of Venezuelan crude were close to 600,000 barrels per day, according to sources with access to shipping data, representing a rise of some 50% compared to August and more than double the volume in July. In June, crude exports had dipped below 200,000 b/d, by some estimates.
